On a different note, The Annual Report noted that mortgage rates a...

Folly Beach Update and Real Estate Information

Tue, Nov 15th 2016 1:45 pm by Margaret Hartwig Folly Beach

Welcome to the November Folly Beach Living Newsletter!

Welcome to the October Folly Beach Living Newsletter!
With Hurricane Matthew behind us and temperatures dropping, Folly is looking ahead to prepare for next year's season and improvement projects.  While Folly did have some damage (see article 'Washout Wiped Out' below), we were very lucky with hurricane Matthew's timing.  While we were hit at low tide, areas like Edisto Beach, Daufuskie Island, and the Beaufort area including Fripp Island were hit very hard.  For those interested in up to date Edisto information, click HERE.  Local sources have been very complimentary of Folly Beach's handling of the situation before, during, and after the hurricane.
Upcoming events includ...

Hurricane preparedness is a big topic this time of year.  Find resources for preparedness on the City of Folly Beach's website.  The public safety department has been busy preparing the island.  This year was predicted to be a busy year.  Hermine brought with it the closure of the Charleston County Schools and many businesses.  Yet damages were kept at a minimum.  Primarily heavy winds and water levels causing downed limbs and power outages were the effects.  Julia, that passed yesterday, was a nonissue.  A positive side effect is the plants love the r...
